Lost Boys Rebuilding Southern Sudan

Sowing the Seeds of Freedom and Leadership
Through Education

Lost Boys Rebuilding Southern Sudan is a 501(c)(3)
not-for-profit organization comprised of Lost Boys
and their American friends. By providing the next
generation of leaders here in America with powerful
lessons about teamwork, perseverance and forgiveness,
Lost Boys Rebuilding Southern Sudan is raising the
funds necessary to provide a high school education for
the next generation of leaders in Southern Sudan.

HISTORY

Beginning in 1983, a decades-long civil war in Sudan
brought death and devastation to the south, leaving
thousands of orphans in its wake. A number of these
orphans came to be known as the Lost Boys, traveling
thousands of miles on foot while overcoming hunger,
disease, wild animal attacks and death before arriving
at a refugee camp in Kakuma, Kenya. It was in the
refugee camp that these young men dreamed of one
day rebuilding Southern Sudan by providing future
generations with the education that every child deserves.

In 2001, while war raged on in Sudan, a group of
Lost Boys was relocated to the Midwest. It was there,
in the heart of America, that they realized their dreams
could become a reality.

In 2006, after a peace agreement was brokered for
Southern Sudan, Lost Boys Rebuilding Southern Sudan
was formed. Now, with the determination of the Lost
Boys and your generous donations, there is hope for
a brighter future.
